Support the LA Tech Community Cares Fund

Dear Amplify friends and family,

Thank you to so many of you who sent messages of support and offered your time and resources to us and our extended community impacted by LA’s recent wildfires. We’ve received an outpouring of interest in finding a way to give back and support the effort to rebuild, and so wanted to share the below organized by our LA tech community – many of whom were personally displaced or impacted.

The LA Tech Community Cares Fund was born out of a group chat among LA’s tech community to support one another during and after the fires. The effort has been funded via almost half a million in early donations from many within the local tech and venture ecosystem, and will be providing direct grants to low-income individuals and families who’ve been some of the hardest hit by the recent fires.

This will be done in partnership with GoFundMe via their GoFundMe.org non-profit arm, where their expert team does extensive vetting and determination of need for each and every grant. You can be sure your contribution is going to those who truly need it the most, including families who lost homes, small businesses, and the workers who supported these communities. We will also give a portion of the funds to multiple firefighter organizations, to support the brave women and men from across the state and country who came to our aid.

This fund is set up as a 501(c)(3) and all donations are fully tax-deductible. So, you can give from your foundations, DAFs and more. We already have a number of Foundations and DAFs supporting this fund with generous donations. No donation is too small and all are appreciated.

Donations can be given on the fund page through Pledge, a local LA startup, where you can donate via credit card, ACH, DAFs, stock or crypto.

Thank you for your support in rebuilding this great city of ours. Please reach out with any questions.

Best,

Amplify
